Jimmy (James Patrick) Page was born on January 9, 1944 in Heston (Middlesex, UK). Already in the mid-1960s, he gained fame as a gifted guitarist – Page acted as a session musician, participated in the recordings of various groups, including “The Who” and “The Rolling Stones”. After initially turning down an offer to play guitar in the rhythm and blues band The Yardbirds, Jimmy Page changed his mind and played with the band until it broke up in 1968. Then he invited bass player John Paul Jones and vocalist Robert Plant to join his new band, later called “Led Zeppelin”. They were then joined by drummer John “Bonzo” Bonham. And since 1968, the ascent of “Led Zeppelin” to the heights of world fame began. For twelve years, before the band’s official dissolution after John Bonham’s death, Led Zeppelin played shows in England, the US and Europe and released nine albums, nearly all of which went platinum.
