Iconic Melodic Hard Rock act NIGHT RANGER are going to release a live cd/dvd package: “24 Strings & a Drummer – Live & Acoustic” due out at the end of October via Frontiers Records.
As a celebration of the 30th anniversary of their debut album Dawn Patrol, and hot on the heels of their excellent 10th studio album Somewhere In California, Night Ranger will release this very special set recorded live in an intimate, all-acoustic setting with a select number of fans at TRI Studios in San Rafael, CA in May, 2012.
Features some of their greatest hits such as “(You Can Still) Rock In America” and “The Secret Of My Success” with refreshing new acoustic arrangements.
Their biggest “Sister Christian”, goes down well with the crowd, and at the end of the set sees them in full flow. That isn’t to say what comes before is lacking, because it isn’t, just that this is a real peak.
But it’s the bonus track acoustic cover of “Boys Of Summer” that steals the show for me, performed in a never heard form until now.
“24 Strings & a Drummer – Live & Acoustic” is really, really well played and recorded album with a pristine sound.
The result is a testament to Night Ranger’s stellar live show and the strength of their songwriting abilities. Just love this band.
