Confessori – Realm Breaker – 2026

Ricardo Confessori steps out from behind the drum kit with “Realm Breaker”, a cinematic metal concept album built around humanity, technology and the fear of losing control of both. Heavy riffs, orchestral layers and a rotating cast of powerful Brazilian voices give the record the scale of a dystopian metal opera.

Best known for his work with KORZUS, ANGRA and SHAMAN, Confessori has spent decades shaping Brazilian heavy metal from behind the drums. “Realm Breaker” is the first time he places his own name at the center of a full-length project, and he uses that freedom to build something much broader than a conventional solo record.

The album unfolds as a science-fiction narrative about the collision between human instinct and artif

Stereophrenics – Paracosm 2.0 (2026)

Swiss progressive metallers STEREOPHRENICS make their full-length debut with “Paracosm 2.0”, a dark and atmospheric record where heavy riffs, gothic tension and theatrical vocals keep slipping in and out of focus. It feels less like a straight metal album and more like wandering through somebody else’s subconscious with the lights flickering.

The album revolves around altered states of consciousness, imaginary worlds and the uneasy border between reality and perception. That concept suits the music perfectly: STEREOPHRENICS rarely stay in one place for long, moving from heavy progressive passages into melancholy keyboards, quieter interludes and more dramatic vocal sections.

“Hypnagogia” acts as a short doorway into the record before “Paracosm”

Feed My Daemons (FMD) – A Symphony Of Lust (2026)

Greek progressive metallers FEED MY DAEMONS return with “A Symphony Of Lust”, a darker, heavier and more focused second album where prog complexity meets hard-rock muscle. The songs twist and turn, but the hooks never get buried under the machinery.

The band have always lived somewhere between progressive rock and heavier metal, and “A Symphony Of Lust” pushes that balance further toward the darker side. There are thick riffs, shifting rhythms and long-form arrangements, but also enough melody to keep the album from disappearing into technical fog.

“Lines We’ve Crossed” opens with a brooding sense of tension, laying out the album’s mix of muscular guitar work and introspective atmosphere. “Safest Shelter” stretches beyond five minutes and

The Astral Prophets – Invasion (2026)

Calgary metallers THE ASTRAL PROPHETS launch their first full-length with “Invasion”, an eight-track blast of groove, power and cosmic heavy metal. Big riffs, punchy bass, soaring hooks and sci-fi atmosphere turn the album into something that feels halfway between a battle cruiser and a biker bar in deep space.

The band call their style “Power Groove”, and that tag actually makes sense. There is the muscular stomp of groove metal, the uplift and melodic sweep of power metal, plus enough synth work and futuristic texture to keep the whole thing from sounding earthbound.

“Target Locked” opens with a blunt, heavy riff and immediately establishes the album’s strongest weapon: the rhythm section hits hard, but the songs still leave plenty of room for

Thomas Miller’s Lazarus Effect – Thomas Miller’s Lazarus Effect 2026, MP3+FLAC

Former SYMPHONY X bassist Thomas Miller rises from the shadows with “Lazarus Effect”, a long-awaited return built on majestic progressive metal, muscular bass lines and the kind of sweeping melodic drama that instantly recalls his classic years. This is not a nostalgia trip — it feels more like an unfinished chapter finally kicking the door back open.

Miller’s history with Michael Romeo stretches all the way back to 1986, eventually leading to the formation of SYMPHONY X in 1994. After appearing on the band’s formative records and helping shape their early progressive-metal identity, he stepped away from the scene — but never stopped writing.

“Lazarus Effect” is the result of those years spent quietly building ideas. Vocalist H

Aeronwen – Perilous Dreams (2026)

New York-based AERONWEN step deeper into their dark symphonic world with “Perilous Dreams”, a compact EP built on heavy guitars, dramatic atmosphere and strong melodic tension. The four main songs are followed by instrumental versions, giving the release a second life without the vocals.

“Delirium” opens with a suitably unstable pulse, balancing melodic metal weight with a theatrical edge, while “Hell’s Dark Winter” pushes further into the colder, more ominous side of the band’s sound. “Chalice” brings a more sweeping symphonic character, and “Drowning in Your Dark” stretches the atmosphere out over the EP’s longest song.

The back half repeats all four tracks as instrumentals. It works surprisingly well here: without the vocals, the ar

Tunisian-French metallers MYRATH strike again with “Echoes of the Fallen”, a pre-album release tied to their 2026 full-length “Wilderness of Mirrors”. MASTER BOOT RECORD – COMPUTER METAL (2026)

MASTER BOOT RECORD return with “COMPUTER METAL”, a ten-track slab of machine-forged heaviness due October 30, 2026 via Metal Blade Records. Vittorio D’Amore pushes the project’s trademark blend of synthesized metal,
real guitar and MIDI precision even further here, with each track built around a different branch of the metal family — from hardcore and thrash to progressive, melodic, death, symphonic and industrial metal. The result feels less like an album and more like a corrupted metal encyclopedia booting directly from a battered beige PC.

Written note by note in Cubase with the computer treated as the main instrument, “COMPUTER METAL” keeps the project’s cold digital skeleton but layers in enough human guitar to stop the machine from becoming sterile.

Sledeon – Sovereign (2026)

Dutch progressive modern metal outfit SLEDEON return with “Sovereign”, their second full-length album and a clear step forward from 2024’s “Futuroscope”. The Nijmegen quartet sharpen their blend of heavy riffing, electronic detail and symphonic atmosphere into something broader, darker and more cinematic, with Fabienne Hurkens’ vocals cutting through the weight like a beam through storm clouds.

The album does not sit politely inside one genre box. Symphonic elements are there, but “Sovereign” leans just as hard into progressive and modern metal, with thick guitars, layered electronics and arrangements that can shift from hypnotic tension to full-blown melodic lift without warning. “The Messenger”, “Dark Halo”, “Golden House” and “Phoenix:

UNFINISHED – Crow Bird (2026)

Rotterdam progressive metallers UNFINISHED make a striking first full-length statement with “Crow Bird”, a debut that refuses to sit quietly inside one box. Formed in 2022 by four Codarts students, the band pull from modern progressive metal, alternative metal and atmospheric rock, with traces of TesseracT, VOLA and DOOL in the bloodstream — but they are already twisting those influences into something much more personal.

Across ten tracks, “Crow Bird” moves from high-energy riffing and melodic bass work to fragile piano-led passages and darker, cinematic stretches. The record circles themes of collapse, memory and inner turmoil, with Nina van Beelen’s vocals and lyrics giving the music its emotional spine. “Lake Killer” and “Smoke” stret
