Italian hard rockers Damn Freaks are back in the fast lane with *Still Running*, their fourth studio album and a fresh shot of high-voltage melodic rock. With former Dokken guitarist Alex De Rosso and new vocalist Giulio Garghentini in the ranks, the band delivers a swaggering mix of razor-sharp riffs, infectious hooks and pure ’80s rock ‘n’ roll attitude.

Following 2023’s *III*, the Florence-based outfit returns with ten new songs, balancing muscular hard rock with glossy AOR melodies and a welcome touch of glam. The title says it all: the engine is still roaring, the guitars are still hungry, and Damn Freaks aren’t ready to hit the brakes.

IQ celebrate 45 years with a four-CD live archive capturing both nights of their February 2026 Weekender at The Met in Bury. Across two full shows, the band move from deep catalogue cuts to a complete performance of “Dominion”, sounding as focused and adventurous as ever.

The first night leans heavily into fan favorites and deeper cuts. “The Wrong Side of Weird” opens the set before “From The Outside In”, “Born Brilliant” and “The Darkest Hour” pull the audience through different eras of the band’s catalogue. “Stronger Than Friction” flows directly into “State of Mine”, while “The Road of Bones”, “Closer” and “Further Away” give the evening its darker, more expansive middle section.

Some albums miss their moment simply because nobody gives them a fair shot. BITE THE BULLET’s self-titled debut is a textbook case. Released in 1989 through Jet Records, it had the songs, the polish and the hooks, but not the promotional muscle behind it. The result was a commercial shrug at the time and a collector’s headache later, as the original CD became increasingly difficult to track down.

Musically, this is classy AOR with its tie loosened just enough to rock. Mick Benton’s writing leans toward the smoother side of the genre, but there is enough guitar bite underneath the gloss to stop the record drifting into wallpaper territory. “Change Of Heart” is a near-perfect opener, all pulsing bass, crystal-clean guitars,
