Mad Mav – The Fiddler Queen (2013)

Front

Power Metal, Symphonic Metal

This is one of those albums that deserve more than one listen. The more you listen to it, the more you might find yourself lost within the dark beauty. From the opening note on track one this album grabs you by the ear and doesn’t let go until the final note of “The Legion”.

A perfect blending of soaring orchestration and Heavy Metal fills each track; managing to complement each other extremely well. Not only does each track have a dueling dance of orchestration and metal, but each track blends to the next track continuing the tale without missing a beat.

From Germany, this one man band offers up a grand showcase of instrumental Metal. Soaring violins, a battle, a dirge, and plenty of guitars, bass, and drums to keep your Metal heart happy. Without vocals it manages to tell its story perfectly by letting the instruments speak for themselves.
