Dean Wallace begins to play guitar at the age of 14 by playing cover songs of his favourite bands : Pantera , Megadeth , Iron Maiden , Metallica … but not wanting to stay in this logic, he starts to compose his own songs quite quickly. His style combines the power of Heavy Metal with catchy melodies. In September 2011, his repertoire is rich enough to create his band, « Whymper ». Together, they run on the local scene during two years. But the band will not only be noticed on the scenes of Lyon or Geneva.
American metal fans will hear from them by the end of 2011. They had just put two songs on their web page, when a Californian metal radio offered them to join one of their monthly compilation Kill City, what they accept without any hesitation. The compilation is then submitted to a public vote. Whymper finishes #1 with the song ” Get away from my home ” and wins some radio airplay ! Moreover, in the Metal Charts Overall, gathering all the bands which participated to the multiple compilations, Whymper finishes #2 over 600 participants ! A new milestone was reached in 2013 with the recording of the first album. Exit Whymper, the album will be named Dean Wallace. Dean is carrying the team at arm’s length. He writes most of the lyrics and songs, and he has also recorded the album in which he plays himself all the instruments. This peculiarity of being a solo artist not only allows him to stand out in a style that promotes the bands, but also to facilitate collaboration with other artists. Dean Wallace is now surrounded by music professionals such as Tinplho Records, his record company, or Patrick Haberli to whom he entrusted the realization of his first video clip. Three young musicians motivated and available now joined the guitarist singer to ensure increasingly frequent and impressive concerts.
