Jimmy Lawrence – The World Is Round (1998)

????? FrontJimmy is the first solo artist on MTM. Jimmy has got great help from some of the best AOR-people in the world. What about R.W Johnson, M.Lunn, R. Neigher, B. Cuomo, P.Wolf, I. Wolf, S. Meissner and C. Dixon as song writers. As musicians we can find such names as Dan Huff, T. Pierce, S. Meissner, David Huff and many more! Jimmy has done a good album filled with Midwestern Rock/AOR songs. Brett Walker, Jimmy Martin, Mitch Malloy (first one) and Carl Dixon comes in mind when I hear the album. “All we have is our dreams” starts this cd in a good way, a good AOR/Rock song in the same vein as Mitch Malloy.

“Under the influence” is also a good song with a nice chorus. “Test of time” is a great AOR-ballad. “Tonight I got the world” with a good pre-chorus again the resemblance of Mitch Malloy comes in mind. “Rose Tatto” sounds like Mark Spiro and has a good chorus. But of all songs I think “Cool Blue” is the best song on this cd. This is a GREAT AOR song. “Fight for you love” is written by Meissner, Dixon and Jimmy. This song is more like Stan Meissner mixed with Carl Dixon and is also a good tune. Jimmy´s voice is something extra, man this guy can really sing, great voice! This album has good variation, from great AOR-songs to more rockier stuff.
