To Be Addicted’s debut album “Rocktopus” has it all: heavy guitar riffs, pumping bass lines, trembling drums, powerful vocals and a lot of catchy melodies. These guys from Switzerland know what rock music is about and this is what you get to hear on this album. Let’s start with the energetic opener “Lowbird” which is driven by earthy, hard rocking guitar riffs and a foot-stamping drum groove.
Followed by “The Outsider“ and “Bad Karma“, which are no less exciting. Jenna Holic sings her self through all the songs with maximum authority, which is particularly well audible on their haunting ballad “Butterfly“ and the stadium rock anthem “Shout It Out“. Between the rather bluesy tracks are songs like “Go Faster“, a classic hard rock song or “Ignorant”, which bombs it down like there’s no tomorrow. Although there is a lot of variety, the songs run through the album like a red thread, exactly as it has to be. To Be Addicted demonstrate in these 14 containing songs the wide range of their skills and present an excellent album, which makes the heart of every rock music enthusiast beat faster.
