40 years after their foundation, Austrian hard rock/ heavy metal act Blind Petition issue a new studio album with the 11 song “Law and Order”. Their influences have firm roots in the 70’s and 80’s bluesy rock realm, the triple guitar attack allowing for a number of licks and tricks that keep the energy flowing. Guitarist David Strohmeier has a voice reminiscent of Paul Rodgers, clear and convincing on strong material like AC/DC oriented “Down to the Ground” and mid-tempo opener “Like Hell”.
A little bit of older southern rock charm comes in to focus on the lumbering “Feeling High”, something I would expect from Blackfoot back in the day. Decent enough songs, but nothing really has that blockbuster, stand out quality to become an essential release in most hard rock/ metal collections.
