Toronto seems now again be a hot rock and roll patches, because among other things the DIEMONDS come just so out of the woodwork and hit us with “The Bad Pack” an uncouth, mangy and yet immensely appealing pounds by the eavesdropper. Has founded the band with singer Priya Panda, guitarist CC Diemond, guitarist Daniel DeKay, bassist and drummer Tommy Carvalho Aiden Tranquada in 2006, but the publication was up front on an EP called “In The Rough” is not a lot on offer. That should change now with the official debut, “The Bad Pack”.
After a long tour-phases that inter alia the band has led to gigs with SLASH, LA GUNS, MICHAEL MONROE, STEEL PANTHER, SEBASTIAN BACH or FASTER PUSSYCAT and on the fabled Rocklahoma Festival in Pryor, is the 10-tracker, the Jon Drew has produced, now in the bag.
“Take On The Night” is the title of the opening track. A song to which it is also a cool video in the style of the 70s strip “The Warriors”. Here the Canadians give melodic riffs and sleazy with translucent. But that they may be different from the gentry, including Dame prove “Loud’n Nasty” or the title track. In between there are Catchy as “Lil ‘Miss” or “Mystery” and the jaunty “Livin’ Tonight”, there is also a more casual drinkers anthem, whose video is ever the odd beer cans stung.
“The Bad Pack” is the long wait is definitely worth and who have not yet had the Canadians on the screen, it should catch up quickly. 10 varied songs that combine influences from sleaze, punk and heavy metal, and promoting a very unique brew-a-days, which goes by the name DIEMONDS. My favorite female-fronted album since “Switchblade Serenades” from SISTER SIN, and that was 2008!
