KHARTAGO RECORDS has established themselves as a real quality re-issue label, because all their releases are rarities from great 80s Melodic Heavy Rock/Metal albums, and with interesting liner notes and lyrics in the CD booklets.
Besides, also the material has a great sound, so nothing dusty dated sounding stuff. Also the re-issue of MIRAGE, a Dannish band that released only 1 LP that has it’s re-issue on KHARTAGO RECORDS now, along with songs from their unreleased 2nd LP. The music is very impressive catchy uptempo Melodic Heavy Rock. Opener “Out there (Survivors)” is a very melodic catchy upbeat melodic rocker that sounds like a heavier version of PRISM mixed with Classy British Melodic Rock, and a chorus that you can sing-a-long with after hearing it just once. The following track “So many years ago” starts calm, with a big Church-Organ/Hammond kinda sound (a la HEEP), but develops into another great uptempo Melodic Heavy Rocker. These first 2 songs are very melodic and remind me a lot of Classy British Melodic Rock from the mid 80s, like RAGE, TOBRUK, TORINO, EXPORT, NIGHTWING…
