SMALL CRAFT WARNING – THE COAST IS CLEAR (2018)

Small Craft Warning is a NY-based original jam band whose songs are heavily influenced by the Hunter/Garcia songbook. The Coast is Clear is the band’s fourth studio album. It was recorded “live in the studio” to capture the improvisational moments that are impossible to compose. This may be the band’s best sounding album yet.

Silk’n’steel – First Touch 1989 EP

Although the name Silk’N’Steel won’t make a bell wringing in most of you’s minds but their vocalist Francis Paramore was part of some Metal bands, f.e. he joined SANVOISEN right after Silk’N’Steel’s departure. Haven’t seen the record that often to be honest and the opener “Ready to rock” is quite a heavy fucker scratching the Power Metal border and showing Francis sounding in places close to Chris Boltendahl. He had a nice vocal spectrum to offer, unfortunately I think Silk’N’Steel was prohably a bit too soft to unfold his voice, who only brought the usual melodic pounding Heavy Metal to the world, but acted just in average regions on most of the tracks. The MLP is nice and for German Metal collectors a must to have but sti

Alpha Centauri – Alpha Centauri [Remastered] 2018

Compared favourably to such heavy hitters as Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Styx, Angel and Head East, the band’s style was a formidable blast of pompous energy but not, it must be said, a carbon copy or pastiche. This was a unit that knew how to play and also how to write serious material.

1. HARD LIFE
2. ONE NIGHT AT A TIME
3. I’M A REBEL
4. EARTH IN MOTION
5. LOVE IS A CURSE
6. YOU SHOT ME DOWN
7. LOVE ONLY YOU
8. MAKE IT AT ROCK ‘N’ ROLL

The Scream – Let It Scream [Remastered+6 bonus] 2018

The Scream album is a record that flew under the radar when it was first released, but has subsequently become one of the most respected and revered releases from the early 90’s. It represented a high point for blistering blues-based hard rock. But as we know, grunge engulfed them and others but at least they didn’t go down without a fight.

3. MAN IN THE MOON
4. FATHER, MOTHER, SON

Max Webster – A Million Vacations [Remastered] 2018

Special Deluxe Collector’s Edition – Fully Remastered Audio. Arguably Max Webster most successful and accomplished album. 12 page full colour booklet – 4,000 word essay, enhanced artwork, and rarely seen photos. When it comes to capturing the imagination and interest of progressive rock fans then Max Webster must surely be one of the all time greats. Once you get your head around the fact that they weren’t actually named after a real person, and that no one in the band was actually called Max Webster, then suddenly all the weirdness becomes acceptable and endearing. It’s amazing to think that at one point the band actually grazed the UK singles chart and appeared on Top Of The Pops, the bastion of British light entertainment.

1. PARADISE SKIES
2. CHARMONIUM
3. NIGHT FLIGHTS
4.

Steve Jones – Fire And Gasoline [Remastered +1 bonus] 2019

There are few guitarists who have created as big an impact on rock music as Steve Jones. As one of the founding members of the Sex Pistols it was Jones who outlined the band’s sound, with his mountainous guitar riffs and unbridled energy pushing the material way beyond the red zone. When the Sex Pistols self-destructed in 1979, Jones was cast adrift, feeling his way towards a solo career but not before entering a troubled time of abuse and addiction.

1. FREEDOM FIGHTER
2. WE’RE NOT SAINTS
3. GOD IN LOUISIANA

Sammy Hagar – Danger Zone [Fully Remastered Audio] 2019

Special Deluxe Collector’s Edition – Fully Remastered Audio. 16 page full colour booklet – 3,500 word essay, enhanced artwork with unpublished photos and 3000 word essay. Sammy Hagar’s five album tenure with the Capitol records label concluded with Danger Zone, a particularly gutsy album that moved the guitarist away from his more considered song writing style to a fuller hard rock sound boasting lashings of attack and excitement. It was a formidable album that set the red rocker up for major career advancement and a lucrative deal with his next label Geffen Records.

1. LOVE OR MONEY
2. 20TH CENTURY MAN
3. MILES FROM BOREDOM
4. MOMMY SAYS, DADDY SAYS
5. IN THE NIGHT (ENTERING THE DANGER ZONE)
6. THE ICEMAN

New Nektar – Megalomania (2018)

Nektar’s contribution over the last 49 years has quite rightly earned them their place in any ‘Progressive Rock Hall of Fame’. But the band is much more than a ‘Prog Legend’, the Nektar brand of innovative composition, performance and visuals is simply unique.

Nektar’s history appeared to have been written when they finally split in the early eighties. Despite attempts to re-kindle the flame, the Nektar light, it seemed, was out . . . . until that is, the year 2000. The new millennium saw the long awaited reunion tour of the classic line up, to rave reviews and fantastic receptions. The light we thought was out, had in fact been kept aglow – by loyal fans across the globe. Fifteen years on and the family has grown a little, but the classic Nektar spirit is still
