Lost in Grey – The Waste Land (2019)

Though hampered by some of the Nightwishcore trappings, dense production chief among them, the sheer scope of the music on display ensures the entertainment value survives unscathed. Lost in Grey shot for the moon and left a neat crater, and for the first time in the genre, I’m excited to find out just how much further they can go.

Powerwolf – Metallum Nostrum (2019)

Even a Powerwolf isn`t a Powerwolf by birth – it all depends on the special grub he was fed as a young pup! If you ever asked yourself which classic cuts and immortal metal and hard rock anthems showed Powerwolf the only true and righteous path, you`ll get the answers in shape of Metallum Nostrum: Ten love letters to heavy metal, aka kickass cover versions! Eternal icons Judas Priest are featured with two Painkiller tracks (namely ‘Touch of evil‘ and ‘Nightcrawler‘) that Powerwolf have poured all their passion into. Of course Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden are part of this classics collection too, as well as mighty Gary Moore and Savatage! Amon Amarth fans are definitely in for a surprise with the clean vocals on ‘Gods of war arise‘! Teutonic metal has been immortalized in shape o

Bloody Times – On a Mission (2019)

Germany Pfundstein, and their legion of guitarists give incredible individual performances, they are limited by a set of songs that could never be more than standard heavy metal fare. I’m glad to find that Greely’s voice has aged well, and I hope to hear it again soon on an album worthy of its power.

Otherwise True Love Never Dies 2012

Las Vegas’ OTHERWISE was a huge hit in their hometown prior to signing with Century Media. Fox News dubbed them the #1 Unsigned Act in America well before labels of all types – both majors and indies – came knocking. The band just finished up in the studio recording their debut full length, True Love Never Dies, with Jay Baumgardner (Bush, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Incubus) at NRG Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Soldiers, the band’s lead single, continues its growing radio success and shows no signs of slowing down.
