Restless Heart is an American country music band established in 1984. The band was established by record producer Tim DuBois, who wanted to create a studio band for the recording of songwriting demos. Between 1984 and 1998, Restless Heart recorded for RCA Records Nashville. The founding members were John Dittrich (drums, vocals), Paul Gregg (bass guitar, vocals), Dave Innis (piano, keyboards, guitar, vocals), Greg Jennings (lead guitar, mandolin, vocals), and Verlon Thompson (lead vocals). Thompson left before the band had officially been named or released a single, because he did not feel comfortable with the country pop style that DuBois wanted the band to pursue. Replacing him on lead vocals was Larry Stewart.
Restless Heart’s sound draws influences from mainstream country music, as well as from pop and rock. Their use of layered harmonies and multiple Adult Contemporary crossover hits have drawn comparisons to the Eagles. Members of Eagles has participated on some of their later releases.
Van Stephenson has co-written several songs on the first four studio releases by Restless Heart most notably with 5 songs on this their first release.
The cassette release of the album included 10 tracks but all vinyl and cd releases of the album only include 8 tracks.
