Good old Power Metal from Greece based Silent Winter. Initially formed in the mid 90s, the band released only 2 demos and split. ” Empire Of Sins” is the follow up to the highly acclaimed debut album. Influenced by bands like Helloween, Stratovarius, Iron Maiden, Running Wild, Silent Winter is straight 90s Power Metal. One of the highlights is the Metal cover of Belinda Carlisle’s smash hit “Leave A Light On”.

In 2018 Magnus Kerlund (Blender) and Jan Hedlund (Coastline, Eagle Down) met in Magnus’ studio. Both had played in numerous bands and toured all over Sweden. However, their true love was melodic rock and AOR. Soon after, Winding Road was born.
Jan’s old friend Jonas Tyskhagen (Incardine, Soxity, Yo Motherfucker, Bitches Brew) with his soulful/bluesy voice became the singer. Fredrik Folare on guitar completed the line-up. Guitar-heavy melodic rock with lots of synths and a strong focus on the melodies is the sound of the self-titled debut album. For fans of: Perfect Plan, Creye, Art Nation, Wildness.

With a new album called the Swedish Power Metal quintet puts themselves back on the Metal dancefloor and set out to reinvent classic Melodic Metal – by unleashig a storm of power, monumentality and zeitgeist that you cannot escape. Spheric layers mix with flirring sequences and stoic beats fitting like a second skin for the massive, melodic and outrageously catchy wall of sound with which they continue to draw a picture of a modern “A Virtual World”.

n modern-day progressive rock, it seems as though there is a new supergroup every few weeks. But long before this was the norm, and before musicians were routinely involved in more than one band, there was Liquid Tension Experiment.
Back in 1997, Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic, Sons of Apollo), John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), and Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), joined forces to create Liquid Tension Experiment. The foursome would release their iconic, self-titled debut album in 1998 and the dazzling follow-up, LTE2 in 1999, creating a dynamic, frantic, and inventive sound all their own. The incredible creativity between the collective would prompt Petrucci and Portnoy to invite Rudess to join Dream Theater, effectively marking the end
Emerging from the Scottish city of Glasgow, the band by the same name calling their debut from 1987 “Zero One Four”, 041 being the telephone dialing code of the city back in the day. Archie Dickson (g), who started playing locally before ending up with Wildcat in the late seventies and later on Heaven, tried to bring back Glasgow several times but it never happened.
