CRY OF LOVE – Brother [Bad Reputation remastered +5 bonus] 2016

This little gem was requested many times, an album very hard to find for years and despite being reissued / remastered by Bad Reputation Records not so long ago, this version is not easy to get as well, close to becoming sold out. We are talking about “Brother“, the brilliant debut album from American rockers CRY OF LOVE.

Originally released by a major label in 1993, “Brother” brought back ‘real rock’ to the airwaves, and while it sold well, unfortunately Cry Of Love was short lived act. Also hit its mark at the wrong time, during the rise of grunge. Funny thing is, this band achieved what every band is trying to do today, nail ‘that’ classic rock sound.
Cry Of Love’s debut was a near-perfect fusion of classic British hard-rock influences and Southern rock sensibility, bringing a refreshing honesty to the dreary radio landscape of the early ’90s. Vocalist Kelly Holland’s gritty delivery (at times reminiscent of Billy Squier) is a perfect foil for the Hendrix flourishes of guitarist Audley Freed, resulting in stellar moments to die for.
This is a wonderful remastered reissue by Bad Reputation Records, fuller, and with the addition of 5 impossible to find songs from the same sessions.
