A Concert for George was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 29 November 2002 in memory of George Harrison on the occasion of the first anniversary of his death.
The event was hosted by Harrison’s widow, Olivia, and their son, Dhani. The organization from the musical side was taken over by Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynne (friends of Harrison and his “brothers” in the Traveling Wilburys). The profit from the event, which was attended by more than 5,000 people, was donated to the Material World Charitable Foundation.
