JOEY C. JONES – The Crabtree Sessions [Demon Doll remastered w/ +5 bonus tracks] (2021)

Singer / songwriter JOEY C. JONES first made his mark with big hair and a big voice fronting ’80s Sunset Strip favorites Sweet Savage. After leaving Savage, Joey joined up with Ohio rockers Shock Tu, then found success and MTV exposure in the ’90s with Joey C Jones & The Gloryhounds. In the late ’90s, Joey revealed a new side to his pop-rock persona with the sonically ambitious Orange Helicopter and hard rockers Crabtree.

Joey C. Jones passed away on March 15, 2022 after a battle with cancer for a number of years, so this Demon Doll Records reissue of the self-titled album with his band Crabtree is a fitting tribute to this diverse artist.
Originally self released at the end of the Nineties, the album ”Crabtree” now has been fully remastered by Demon Doll Records as “The Crabtree Sessions” featuring the complete album sessions including 5 bonus tracks.

Bringing his undeniable vocal abilities and frontman extraordinaire personality to the fore front once again, Joey combines the best of his influences on ‘The Crabtree Sessions’ album, ranging from the Seventies classic to the Nineties darker rocking sounds.
Jones, guitarist Dave Crow, bass player Davies Baird and drummer Ken Koudelka craft some serious chemistry that Joey truly believed this album is his best work… and that’s saying something when you’ve fronted Sweet Savage as well as The Gloryhounds.
From the opening line “Do as I will, I serve no law”, Joey and the boys reek havoc throughout this well produced and well performed 18 track record.
