In the words of the musicians, the film tells about the origin and development of black metal. In 1991, a small community of young musicians formed in Norway, who were united by their unwillingness to follow the path of death metal that was fashionable at that time and the desire to somehow express their protest.
Most of the community was only interested in music, but a proposal from one of the musicians to burn down several churches was received with approval by some of its members. A series of arsons began in Norway. Until a certain point, the police had no suspects.
