Big Brother And The Holding Company is mostly remembered as the group that made it possible for Janis Joplin to become a cult figure in the music world.
The members of the group do not deny that Janis Joplin was the brightest figure immediately after the formation of their group, and most likely they would have been so unlucky if it were not for her in their composition.
Big Brother And The Holding Company holds a significant place in San Francisco history as one of the top bands in psychedelic rock, blues and folk rock.
Their 1968 album Cheap Thrills is still considered a masterpiece of psychedelic rock.
This release presents the band’s performance at the Burg Herzberg Festival 14-17 July 2005 in Germany.
