This one has been requested by one fan of ’80s Canadian Rock, and as at 0dayrox we’re are fans of the scene too, it’s a pleasure to feature here IDLE EYES first album, the self-titled “Idle Eyes” from 1984. This is the now rare and hard to find ($ 100) only CD remastered version of “Idle Eyes”, done by respected label Wounded Bird Records.
Idle Eyes is best known for the Canadian hit single “Tokyo Rose”, which opens the album. To make it more complete, we added as extras two different versions of the song (12” Extended Version, Dub Mix), vinyl rips, the only format available.
IDLE EYES overall style is that exquisite mix of AOR, rock&pop and new wave which many bands from the mid-80s did, but this band has a special ‘smooth

The Cult turned more metal, The Cure were more singable. Fields Of The Nephilim had better hats. But when it came to full-on, paisley-shirt, pointy-shoes pretensions, only The Sisters Of Mercy were more all-out gothic than THE MISSION. The two acts competed for chart action between 1986 and ’90, before falling victim to alt rock and the vanishing underground, but their legacies stand tall.
THE MISSION’s 1986 debut, ”God’s Own Medicine”, was massively ostentatious (the reverb; soundscapes; Led Zeppelin-esque atmospheres; showing off!) – and good, remaining as one of the finest examples of ’80s goth rock&pop.
