Interesting band as it is a project started by Roy Hill and Chas Cronk after Strawbs disbanded in 1980. Roy Hill had replaced Dave Cousins in Strawbs in 1980 at Cousins’ own recommendation.

When playing live Cry No More also included Nick Magnus (Steve Hackett) on drums and keyboards.Cry No More also supplied the soundtrack for the 1986 British low-budget horror movie, Bloody New Year in which Roy Hill and Chas Cronk also had small parts.

I miss a couple of their releases, as I don’t have their first album Smile (1986), but the file includes most of their other releases.

As requested, here we have former Foreigner vocalist LOU GRAMM‘s 1987 solo album “Ready Or Not“, in its Wounded Bird Records CD reissue which sounds much better in dynamics.

The greatness of “Ready Or Not” should be credited as well to talented Bruce Turgon, who co-wrote most the songs with his exquisite tastes and also play various instruments, even dropped a guitar solo.
Gramm started o work on “Ready Or Not” when Foreigner entered into some kind of a hiatus after the success of ‘Agent Provocateur’. Lou got offer of a solo album, and the result is “Ready Or Not”, a melodic collection of songs with all that ’80s magic.

LOU GRAMM has one of the most unique and remarkably memorable voices, not only as frontman of multi platinum selling US melodic rock gods Foreigner, but also as solo artist as this remastered reissue by Rock Candy Records of his second solo release “Long Hard Look” highlights.

It was the fall of 1989 – one year after Foreigner made solid work on Inside Information, when Lou Gramm made another great solo album following Ready Or Not. This “Long Hard Look”, in my opinion, is the better of the two solo efforts.
The record scored two successful Billboard singles such as “True Blue Love” and “Just Between You And Me”, but all the tracks were potential hits.

There has been many bootlegs put on sale of LOU GRAMM‘s show at RKO Studios show performed in 1987, but none sounds like this one – an unreleased version / no cuts taken from our collection.

While still fronting Foreigner, Gramm released his first solo album ‘Ready Or Not’ in January 1987 to critical acclaim. The single ‘Midnight Blue’ reached the top five. To promote the album, Lou performed this show at RKO Studios for radio broadcast.
