Pixies – Acoustic & Electric Live [2010, Rock, Blu-ray]

This Blu-ray brings together two complete performances by the Pixies from 2005, which were originally released on separate DVDs. Acoustic Live In Newport captures the band playing their first completely acoustic performance on the shores of the Atlantic in Newport, Rhode Island.

It’s a fascinating alternate take on 22 of the Pixie’s biggest hits. Club Date: Live at The Paradise in Boston sees the Pixies return to their old stomping grounds to perform an intimate set in front of 200 diehards. As bonus material there is a “fly on the wall” featurette following the band’s preparation for Newport and rare footage from October 1986 of one of the first Pixies shows shot at TT The Bear’s in Boston.

Those Japan releases used the 1993 remastering job, which are good, but wait to listen to this new 2023 CD release of AEROSMITH’s sixth album ”Night In The Ruts” featuring a new remaster – this simply blows out of the water anything you heard before.
