As requested, here’s some live material from FEMME FATALE, one of the best bands from the ’80s with a fearless female lead singer; Lorraine Lewis.
This show was captured November 3rd, 1988, at Braden Auditorium, Normal, IL, when the band was presenting their debut album on tour supporting Cheap Trick in the ‘Lap of Luxury Tour’.
The Femme Fatale Live performance shows a young and hungry band with lots of zeal, determination, and fire. They were eager to connect with the audience and the audience enthusiastically responded back. As mentioned above, Femme Fatale was opening for Cheap Trick and the band studied Cheap Trick each and every night. They picked up some of the tricks of the trade from Cheap Trick.
Lorraine Lewis, Femme Fatale’s lead singer says about the sound of this show, “Jeff Dunn (who did sound for Cinderella, Bullet Boys, Jimmy Page, The Black Crowes), had a way of vocally mixing my voice; he had me front and center with a little reverb; I could play vocally with my range because of the fullness from the sound bouncing back at me.” Lorraine continues, “That’s why this show sounds so bad ass!”
Indeed, Fame Fatale sounds great on “Live ’88“, a band that not only was about the looks, but rocked like Hell.
