As requested, here’s 1982’s ROBBIE PATTON album “Orders From Headquarters” released for the first time on CD by specialized label Wounded Bird Records.
This English singer/songwriter received his break when he toured as a special guest of Fleetwood Mac in 1979 when they one of the hottest acts in the music world. The association proved to be even more beneficial as Fleetwood Mac members helped Patton to get into American music industry, as songwriter partner for others (Santana, Journey’s Jonathan Cain, etc) and an album deal with a major label.
“Orders From Headquarters” is Robbie Patton’s first LP on Atlantic Records, a melodic AOR / radio-friendly RockPop collection of songs with a joyful sound from the first half of the ’80s: think Toto’s poppy side, Jack Wagner, The Cars.
Patton’s voice is smooth, helped by seasoned session musicians such as guitarists Joey Brasler (Cher, Little Caesar) & Mike Hamilton (Kenny Loggins), keyboardist and co-writer David Adelstein (Santana, Movie Soundtracks), bass player Robin Sylvester (Rory Gallagher), Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks & Christine McVie on backing vocals, and more.
There’s sparkling candy floss keyboards and melodic guitars all over ‘Lonely Nights’, ‘Louise’, ‘Victim of Your Love, the title track, ‘Look Away”, all served with class.
