Some time ago we featured NAKED GYPSY QUEENS music here, now the band just dropped a full length live album simply titled “Live” featuring some unreleased material from a collection of different shows throughout the years, even dating all the way back to 2018 when they were just starting out.
Rooted in hard-charging bluesy grooves and dual lead guitars, the band builds upon the larger-than-life sound of their heroes from the ’70s / ’80s, keeping the flame burning for old-school hard rock while using their own 21st century fuel.
This 4-piece conjures the mojo of Bad Company and Zeppelin with The Black Crowes, melodic guitar work plenty of wah wah,a fat rhythm section and timeless bluesy raspy vocals. There’s some kind of a vintage rock n’ roll jam feeling in their live performances – this is a band to be enjoyed live for sure.
“Live” is very well recorded, a clean and clear production with an organic vibe, an album which its 39 minutes running time works perfectly.
At the heart of Naked Gypsy Queens is tremendous passion for rock and roll and a distinct feel for how to make it sound not just good but great. Taking the traditional path of their musical forefathers is refreshing; the art of working hard and building a following with live performances.
We already praised Naked Gypsy Queens, and this “Live” confirms these guy’s quality. Seriously, this is one of the best Classic Rock acts emerged in the last decade. Don’t miss ’em.
