The Snakes – Once Bitten… 1998 (Japanese Edition), MP3+FLAC

A few days ago we featured The Company Of Snakes album, the group made up by ex Whitesnake guitarists Bernie Marsden & Micky Moody. But previously, the duo formed a band simply called THE SNAKES.

In the dark ages for classic rock / hard rock with melody – read mid-90s – Marsden & Moody found refuge in the cold Norway. The idea to create a new band with the two British guitarists and local musicians and re-create that classic sound worked like a charm.
Produced by talented TNT guitarist Ronni Le Tekro and enlisting the then pretty unknown former Vagabond vocalist Johnny Lande, THE SNAKES recorded their debut album “Once Bitten…” in 1998. The band was completed by bassist Sid Ringsby (who later joined TNT) and drummer Willy Bendiksen (Bad Habitz, Blonde On Blonde), while TNT’s touring keyboard player Dag Stokke engineered the album.

Including all Marsden / Moody new original songs, “Once Bitten…” is a pure delight from start to finish. Le Tekro captured the two guitarists vintage sound, and Jorn does his best Coverdale-esque delivery adding his own touch.
Looking for classic Whitesnake sound? Hard Rock with bluesy foundation, melody, and a singer to die for? Crank “Once Bitten…” to 11!
