“In Berlin” is the second (technically, the third) live album by BONNIE TYLER and it’s her best, by far. Recorded during the ‘Between the Earth and the Stars Live Tour’ in May 2019, the album was intended to be out on the streets in 2020, but then Covid 19 Pandemic started and wasn’t the right time for a ‘live album’.
Now 2024 “In Berlin” finally sees the light of day, and showcases Tyler in top form. At her 68 (age at the time of recording) Bonnie’s voice is even more husky, bluesy rock n’ rolling.
And her regular touring band Ed Poole, Matt Prior, Alex Toff and John Young deliver a tight performance. Their chemistry on stage is great. Some neat solos, solid mixing, and a setlist including classics like “Holding Out for a Hero”, “Faster Than the Speed of Night”, “It’s a Heartache”, and of course “Total Eclipse of the Heart”.
”In Berlin” stands as further evidence of Bonnie Tyler being a guarantor for first-class classic rock&pop entertainment. A musical firework packed in a 17-song setlist full of unforgettable classics, best-loved fan favourites and most recent hits.
Even after a career spanning over 50 years, Bonnie Tyler has no intention of slowing down. “In Berlin” is further proof of her skills and she will be touring again in 2024.
