With more than a five-decade career, Black Sabbath founder / guitarist TONY IOMMI is a Rock history living legend. Outside Sabbath, Iommi has recorded / collaborated with various band’s projects, some well known, some quite obscure.
The team has done this compilation “Rarities” featuring Tony Iommi recordings, some rare / not released, some pretty unknown, ranging from 1972 to 2022.
Among the selections, there’s the dark, diabolic songs with Necromandus, the band discovered by Iommi in 1972 who produced their album never released until twenty years after, the track Tony did for the Guitar Speak compilation on IRS Records (written & recorded during TYR sessions 1990), and Tony’s collaboration with Swedish band Drain STH.
There’s a great version of ”Smoke on the Water (1989 Original Mix)” for Rock Aid Armenia with other stars, a rare appearance on an album of rockers Quartz were Tony play flute (!), a killer version of ”Paranoid” with Ozzy Osbourne & Phil Collins, and much more.
