As requested by many, here’s a vinyl-rip of the very first AC/DC album 1975 LP “High Voltage“, in its original Australian pressing.
As many already know, the first two AC/DC albums only were released in Australia and New Zealand, titled ‘High Voltage’ and ‘TNT’, both ’75, with different album cover art.
The next year there was the first international AC/DC album release, also titled ‘High Voltage’ but taking songs from these 2 original LP’s, remixed, edited, etc. In fact only two tracks were used from this very first LP, so you have here exclusive songs. Sure, “Baby Please Don’t Go”, “Soul Stripper”, “You Ain’t Got a Hold on Me” and “Show Business” were later included on the international release of ’74 Jailbreak’. But “Stick Around” and “Love Song” were never officially released internationally in album form. They were eventually included in the 2009 boxed set ‘Backtracks’, but never on vinyl again.
Many fans still prefer this original 1975 “High Voltage” in its original mix, raw, in your face. Released via Albert Productions records, the vinyl has blue center labels and a kangaroo logo on it – these initial pressings are priceless collector’s pieces now.
For the first time in decades, the original 1975 Australian versions of ‘High Voltage’ and ‘T.N.T.’ were reissued on vinyl 2024 and were available only at the AC/DC Dive Bars last Summer. These albums were never before released outside of Australia. Pressed in limited quantities, of course sold out in a few days.
Truth is that these original vinyl LP pressings sound terrific indeed. This 1975 “High Voltage” LP kick ass, with a great soundstage and a nice channel separation. Yeah, this is AC/DC at its primal. This is rock n’ roll folks.
You gotta listen to this; the sound quality of this vinyl-rip is outstanding.
