
“Krokus” is probably the only hard rock band from Switzerland that has achieved international recognition and sold more than 10 million records worldwide. It all started back in 1974, when Peter Richard (vocals), Tomi Kiefer (guitar), Hansi Droz (guitar), Remo Spadino (bass) and Chris Von Rohr (keyboards, drums) got together.
The name of the band comes from the common crocus flower, which grows everywhere in southern Europe. The founder of the band, Chris Von Rohr, was once returning home on a train and saw a field of crocus flowers. The idea of a rock band had long been formed, but there was no name.
