For the history of SATAN JOKERS we must go back in 1979 with the JARRETELLES group. At the time it was formed as the singer-drummer Renaud Hantson, Laurent Bernat on bass and a guitar player. The trio made a few concerts and recordings and decided to audition singers, Pierre Guiraud was chosen.
Initially, it was mainly noted for his extravagant clothes (they say he would come to the hearing with a red shoe and one white). The group separating from his first guitarist Stéphane Bonneau (ex-STRATOS become WARNING) was quickly engaged. It is therefore in December 1981 was born the group
SATAN JOKERS whose name was inspired to Renaud Hantson by two bands of rival Hells Angels bikers in the United States: Satan Slavs and Gypsy Jokers. To canvass the record labels, the band recorded a demo three titles in the studio (it was presented in a tin) consisting of securities “The son of metal”, “When the heroes die” and “Private Vices “(this last composition will reappear in a different version on the second album).
