Desert Dance – Open Secrets (2014) EP

Front
In Brazil, sometimes good Hard Rock bands appear, but the greater part of them use bands like MOTLEY CRUE, GUNS ‘N’ ROSES and SKID ROW models. Just a few of them go in a way lighter, in direction of a more AOR/Party Rock sound. And DESERT DANCE, from São Paulo, is one of them, and their first EP, “Open Secrets”, is a good sample of what I mean.

In the vein of bands like RATT and SLAUGHTER, they’re doing a very hooky kind of music, with great refrains, but having good technique (especially on guitar solos), and an amount of weight. Recorded at Mr Sound Studios, with the production from Tadeu De Gringo, mixing from Henrique Baboom and mastering from Alexandre Cabral. So this team makes their sound flow with good quality and heavy weight in equal parts, sounding alive. And the cover, done by Tadeu De Gringo contains on it a statement: we are a Hard Rock band, so what!

“Open Secrets / Louder, Faster and Sleeze”, “Dance”, “Crime Town” and “Letting You Know” are very good songs, with the elements told above, so they’re working serious in doing a high spirited music, catching and with a party feeling from the beginning to the end, so you’ll get hooked when listen.
