-Formed in ’87, Denmark’s SATERIAstood out amongst that country’s metal militia, as acts like M.Fate and Pretty Maids ruled the roost. Put togetherby vocalist Martie Peters(Push, MPG)and guitarist René Shades (nowPretty Maidsbass-player), they quickly conquered the Danish Hard-Rock scene, headlining many clubs in Copenhagen and opening for various big acts, from Little Angels to Europe, to critical acclaim.
-A distillation of acts like Poison, Motley Crue and White Lion, Sateria were heavily influenced by LA’s Sunset Strip, then home to the burgeoning Hair Metal scene that had taken hold of the eighties, turning it into a decade of decadence.
-Tentatively signing to Polygram, they cut an album that would never see the light of day, as the record-deal fell through. Unreleased to this day, “Cold Beer &A Hat Full Of Fun” is a treasure trove of Sleazy-Glam Metal that will evoke memories of that decade’s greatest acts. From the Crue-meets-Warrant balladry of “Long Way Home” through to the balls out rifferama of “Sex Talks”(that owes a debt of gratitude to Faster Pussycat)and the Poison-esque “Song For Nickie”, this lost treasure deserved so much much more!
