In 2000, Dio presents a new surprise to music lovers: his new album ‘Magica’, in which he combines the rigidity of ‘Dehumanizer’ / ‘Angry Machines’ with the melodic character of ‘Dream Evil’.
Unlike the texts of previous albums, the songs are not scattered, but consistently lead one line of the narrative. In ‘Magica’ Dio again returns to mystical plots, in this case the story is about the history of a certain planet and the people who inhabited it in ancient times, about magic, about good and evil, as well as the book “Magica”, which carries great power – in general, a typical fantasy plot. Once again, Ronnie’s new creation was not perceived unambiguously – some were jarred by the return to the roots, some – the epic and far-fetched plot, many did not see anything innovative in the album, some, on the contrary, accepted it “with a bang.” In any case, the album did not leave anyone indifferent!
