Supersonic Blues Machine Present album Voodoo Nation begins with the track “Money,” which is about greed. “Greed alone isn’t the problem, it’s greed and a lack of respect for everyone else,” explains Grossi.
The 8-minute “Devil at the Doorstep” features Eric Gales – whose last album Crown was a #1 Blues Billboard hit and went on to become his best-selling album in Germany. With “Coming Thru” and “Get It Done” – the latter featuring Los Angeles-based virtuoso Josh Smith – SBM underscore the problems musicians face today. Rounding out the theme, “Do It Again” is another smash hit starring Ana Popovic and about the “luck and blessings of being able to do what you love”. Harlem blues sensation King Solomon Hicks provided vocals and guitar on the song “You and Me.” The band’s trademark soulful blues sound can be heard on “I Will Let It Go” (featuring Kirk Fletcher) and the beautiful “Is It All.” Kris Barras and the legendary Joe Louis Walker take turns on the mic for the soul ballad. The title track picks up on the feeling of general discontent in society. SBM show how they see the world through their eyes. But the hope
isn’t far, so they close the album with the inspirational country-blues “All Our Love” featuring Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr.
