DAVY VAIN – In From Out Of Nowhere Special Limited Edition / only 200 copies available (2023) , MP3+FLAC

Vain frontman DAVY VAIN solo album ”In From Out Of Nowhere” has been re-released as a Special Limited Edition with only 200 copies available on CD / numbered and signed. You can purchase the CD only from Davy Vain’s online store.

Sadly, Vain (the band) never got their second album released in 1991 due to record label bankrupt, but Davy continued with the group, and despite the trend-fixed music industry favoring grunge suppressed this awesome band for major exposure, they managed to release two albums during the Nineties.
By the end of the decade Davy was searching to give a more personal touch to his music, and despite of featuring all Vain (the band) members, this next album ”In From Out Of Nowhere” was released in 2000’s with the DAVY VAIN name on the tin.
As the music industry progressed and changed, Davy explored his creativity and musicianship even further. Remaining true to his musical integrity, “In From Out of Nowhere” is filled with catchy hooks and choruses, rampant with melodies, and loaded with fresh and creative guitar sounds.

“Push Me Over” as a great opener and reminds me of a gentleman named Alice Cooper in style. There’s rocking melodic riffs, big drumming, a swirling guitar solo and a voice that is said to be “one of the most unique and original in rock ‘n’ roll”. Btw, Davy’s voice on this album sounds much more clean and less ‘nasal’ than on previous VAIN albums.
Songs like ‘Trinity’, ‘Electric’, and ‘Fly Again’ are those that showcase Davy’s different side, as said, more melancholic. It takes some time to get into these as ‘Vain’ songs, but after repeated listens will never let you go.
For a classy Vain rocking sound check ‘Sugar Shack’ or’ Not Your Space Man’, while you’ll be surprised by the bluesy background of melodic rocker title track ‘In From Out Of Nowhere’, one of the highlights.

Davy was right to release this album under the DAVY VAIN moniker, as while has unavoidable points in common with VAIN (the band), it’s a much more melodic rock oriented album with elaborated arrangements. A well respected producer as well, Davy provided the album a fresh, crisp sound, with each instrument perfectly audible and cool layers of guitars.
Very well done Mr Vain.
