Today presenting in exclusive a new, awesome AOR / Melodic Rock act from Sweden: L.A.N.D. The band has released their debut “Echoes from the Past” last year, now augmented with 2 additional songs.
L.A.N.D is formed by experienced musicians from the Scandinavian scene, and the band name is taken from their first names: Lars Lasse Gidbo, Anders Griberg, Nicklas Hellström, Dick Griberg. All contribute songwriting, wonderful melodies with a lot of echos from the ’80s – the music the guys grew up with.
After working with the songs on keyboards, guitar and drums for quite a while, Dick, Anders and Nicklas contacted Lasse who joined them on bass and vocals and wrote the lyrics and vocal arrangements for the songs. In 2024 also Thomas Nyström joined forces on guitar.
L.A.N.D is the best AOR band we discovered in a long time: their smoothness, melodies and atmosphere are unique. They aren’t arena-sized as current Scandi AOR / Melodic Rock bands – L.A.N.D go for ‘delicatessen’. The music here is closer to ALIEN or STRANGEWAYS than H.E.A.T to give you an idea.
Recorded & released by themselves, “Echoes from the Past +2” sounds million bucks, crystal clear. With an expert mixing & mastering this recording would be even better.
L.A.N.D continually working with new material, and in October 2023 they released the single Cold War. After adding Thomas Nyström on guitar a few months ago to enrich their overall sound, L.A.N.D released a new single, ‘A New World’, now including female Teresia Hörnfeldt on backing vocals.
This is a fantastic classic sounding band, specialized record labels take notice: L.A.N.D are awesome.
