CRYXUS – Rise 2012

now!

Industrial/Electronic Rock project created by Producer/Composer team Josh Carlton & Daniel Apple. With heavy influence from Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Marilyn Manson, and Maynard Keenan (Tool) this debut album is sure to leave a haunting impression.

Cryxus is an American electronic & industrial rock project, founded in 2011 by vocalist/songwriter Josh Carlton and electronic producer/multi-instrumentalist Daniel Apple. Carlton and Apple are the only official members, although the duo continuously collaborates with up-and-coming artists, musicians, and producers to expand their leviathan sound and continue to define their image. With heavy influence by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Marilyn Manson, and Maynard James Keenan (Tool, Puscifer & A Perfect Circle), Carlton and Apple are breeding a maniacal demon offspring of Industrial/Electronic Rock that will leave a haunting impression.

In 2011, Cryxus conspired with electro/house producer JacktheWiz (Jack Holway), and freshman producer (R)enko (Ryan Enko) to write, record and develop a song for the Middle Tennessee State University Society of Electronic Music’s annual songwriting competition. Their entry, called “Zombify” took first place, and the group received local airplay on the University’s radio station.

Over the past year, Carlton and Apple have developed a divergent-sounding group of songs under the collection name “Rise”. The Cryxus project is centered around the idea of constant manipulation and reshaping of material, and therefore the songs will likely be released in alternative mixes, remixes, and collaborations as the band continues to develop and stretch the boundaries of their creativity. Cryxus also gives fans the opportunity to join in the creative process by downloading stems of select tracks to remix and adapt to their liking, openly discussing lyrical content, ideas, & concepts, and even sharing unreleased tracks with members of “The Legion”, the band’s official fan community.
