The second album to be released by Nine Stones Close in 2024 is ‘Adventures In Anhedonia’. It is a very personal album, lyrically, and reflects on the mental state and wellbeing of us all, based on the personal experiences and traumas of Adrian Jones’ recent past.
Adrian says, “…it really reflects what’s been happening to me over the past years, the effect it’s had on me and how I have tried to deal with some of it…” The music is very distinct from that of the Diurnal album, reflecting the lyrical themes and feelings that inspired the songs, while still retaining the unique Nine Stones Close sound.
From the soaring opening track ‘Beach Walker’ to the epic finale of ‘Plastic Animals’ the album takes you on a ride through the Nine Stones Close musical world and the psyche of Adrian Jones.
With Paul van Zeeland at the helm again producing and mixing, the band’s sound has further evolved, creating a stunning sonic landscape, from quiet, reflective, beautiful moments and soundscapes to soaring powerful heaviness, the emphasis is always on the highest possible sound quality and dynamics, to immerse the listener in the world of Nine Stones Close’s music.
