All in the name of Rock ‘n’ Roll; STROKER ACE is added in a series of newly emerging bands that tend to adore and honor the dirty hardrockin’ side of Rock ‘n’ Roll with no regrets and in full speed. “Hit The Gas”, in one way, seems to be the German outfit’s third release but I had not met them before, so consider this review as a first insight too.
Well, AC/DC, ROSE TATTOO, (the ‘Rock’ days of) THE CULT and a glimpse of MOTÖRHEAD is what this disc is as all about. Crank it up to ten and drive safe in you can, haha! Recorded at maximum level, the CD shall keep you good company with its catchy choruses, some filthy soloing, a torturing staccato rhythm section and a portion of whiskey-rock ‘n’ roller vocals that owe a lot to any band you can imagine playing straightforward cocky Rock ‘n’ Roll from Australia to the US. There’s no weak moment here, as there’s no over-exciting moment also. The songs pass one by one quite smoothly and as soon everything it’s over it’s just a matter of habit to have“Highway To Hell” or “Rose Tattoo” or “Electric” in line to continue the party.
If the band is satisfied by producing something that’s been played 666,666 times by others in the past, that’s ok. I had fun with “Hit The Gas”; nothing less and nothing more. Ah, and the cover is a winner (too).
