It?s conspicuous how many re-issues are thrown on the CD market this year. It proves that a lot of rock lovers are interested in old material. Two labels that are (still) doing a fine job today are Rock Candy Records and YesterRock. Besides The Arrows? ?Stand Back?, the latter has recently also rereleased the one and only album from Worrall, a Canadian band that was named after Rick And Steve Worrall. According to the liner notes of Rick Worrall, the recording of the album was an amazing experience for the bros, because they could work with Jim Gaines ? who had previously produced acts like Steve Miller Band, Santana, Huey Lewis and Stevie Ray Vaughan ? at the Kiva Studios in Memphis. The ?Worrall? album was done in two turns, spending a total of 11 weeks on the project. When it was released by Spy/A&M in 1991, I didn?t hesitate a second to buy it and in the last 20 years it has been an album that I played on a regular basis. I don?t know what happened to the brothers after this initial release, but it?s a pity they didn?t go on after this marvelous debut album, featuring such AOR beauties as ?You Know?, ?Catch Me? (featuring Sean Lane on guitars), ?Take A Look Around? and ? last but not least ? ?Heat Of The Night?, which became a top-30 hit. The video clip of this wonderful track is added as a bonus. Classic Canadian AOR from the 80s!!!
