The Letter Black – Pain (2017)

I don’t know why this band isn’t more well known. They should be up there with The Pretty Reckless and Halestorm. That’s how good they really are. Since forming in 2006, the Letter Black have proven to be one of the hardest working bands in Christian hard rock, often playing as many as 150 shows a year.

Virgos Merlot ?– Signs Of A Vacant Soul 1999

Signs of a Vacant Soul is Virgos Merlot’s first and only album. It was released on March 2, 1999 by Atlantic Records. The album’s only single, “Gain,” had moderate radio play and reached #40 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart. The band later reformed, minus guitarist Marchant, as “Virgos”.

After shamelessly changing their name from Siamese Fighting Fish and releasing the album Siamese in 2015, the band from Denmark is now band with their fourth effort called Shameless. An album not that easy to web search for information and the press sheet didn’t even contain the band members or a track list hence a bit of nonsensical space filling dribbling of my own take on this band. And as I never got the previous album I must point out that the name change isn’t to my liking, why change name from a unique band name to one used by at least a handful of band and not to mention by a very popular breed of

Founded in the UK’s North East Twister is a refined, accomplished pop/rock quartet. This young exciting high-energy band is fronted by Stevie Stoker, a charismatic singer who can work a crowd like the professional he is.

Civil Youth – Conversations (2017)

Cannonballing into the scene, Civil Youth left their roots in Philadelphia to quickly take on the rest of U.S. (Independently) “You remind me of…” “How do you have so much energy on stage?”, “You guys are so different, but I love it!”. Fans and critics alike can’t quite put Civil Youth into a genre, and they’ve loved it ever since their start in 2015.

Bubbles Erotica – Bubbles Erotica (2017)

In Chicago’s cut-throat music scene, it’s rare to find a band as self-sufficient, forward-thinking and as conscious about their art as Bubbles Erotica. From the constantly shifting sounds they create to the lush cover art of their 2014 EP Elephants Never Forget: this is a band that, while eager to stand-out, doesn’t seem pre-occupied with waiting for someone else to get them heard.

Cotton Mather – Wild Kingdom 2017

This is the best Cotton Mather album since Kontiki (one of the best indie-rock albums ever!) The production, especially on Roberts voice, the jingly guitars and the catchy melodies are very reminiscent of that landmark LP.
