Eddie and the Hot Rods were a pub rock band from Essex founded in 1975. This box set includes almost everything they recorded in the 70’s. This includes their 3 official albums on Island Records adding 25 bonus tracks as well as the very rare Rods album, released as a limited edition (50-100 copies?) at the Marquee Club (Wardour Street) and at the Reading Festival. Also included in the box set are two CDs with recordings made by the BBC.
The band’s early repertoire consisted of covers of 1960s R&B songs and original songs inspired by the likes of Dr. Feelgood. Although often categorized as one of the founding fathers of the punk era, they were simply interested in playing loud, fast, in-your-face Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Barrie Masters was the only constant member
