The album was recorded ‘virtually’ in April 2020 at the height of the Coronavirus lockdown with long term collaborators Mike Portnoy (drums) and Randy George (bass):
“It’s the first album we have ever made remotely: I sent them the basic tracks and asked if they wanted to rearrange things, but they just said ‘No, it’s great!’, so they just played to it and sent their parts back over. It wasn’t an easy way to make an album, but creating always has its challenges, no matter how you do it.” Sola Gratia will be available as a Limited CD+DVD Digipak (including making of documentary), Gatefold 2LP + CD, Standard CD Jewelcase.

Metal City with its humorous cover artwork (“it’s a comic book inspired theme, we are all lunatics and we figured we all wanna be superheroes, so we went for it”) was recorded at production legend Michael Wagener’s studio in Nashville. “The album was produced by us, Mike Heller engineered his drums and Michael Wagner engineered everything else. We then turned the tracks over to a guy called Zeuss who did a great job mixing and mastering it. So it’s been a departure for us process-wise. We kinda got dragged into the 21st century kicking and screaming…but the new tools are great as long as you use them, and they aren’t using you.”

The release date of the of the album „King Of The Sea“ by the Sweden Heavy Metal Band JACKWAVE as CD is August 21st, 2020. The pre-order phase will start on August 7th, 2020 in our webshop. The album will be released in a limited Edition of 500 copies (handnumbered), certificate and hologram.
The swedish band JACKWAVE was active only in a short three year period beginning in 1985. A changing of bandmembers ended the career from these young hopefuls fast. Two bands playing a similar Heavy Metal style are much more well known today: IRONCROSS from Finland and…. HEAVY LOAD…the domestic competitors.

SUPERB TRIPLE DISC LIVE COLLECTION FROM THIN LIZZY S HEYDAY Formed in Dublin in 1969, two of Thin Lizzy s founding members – drummer Brian Downey and bass guitarist Phil Lynott – met while still at school. Lynott led the group throughout their recording career of twelve studio albums, writing most of the material. The singles Whiskey in the Jar (a traditional Irish ballad), The Boys Are Back in Town and Waiting for an Alibi were all international hits.

BABE BLU – Babe Blu 2020
“Babe Blu was one of the better Atlanta-based rock bands from the mid-80s. They released a 5-track mini-LP titled “Can’t Stop Rock-n-Roll” that contained some great Melodic Rock.
Notable is the fact that the band had two lead vocalists that both could sing well. The band had member changes along the way, and ultimately found its demise through the unfortunate timing of the grunge avalanche that reared its head in the late ’80s and early ’90s. If we succumb to the natural need to compare obscurity with things known, we’ll take that best shot. While Babe Blu certainly holds it own with regard to melody and playability from the era, most tracks can certainly be compared to more mainstream bands from the same slice of time.

Ellefson featuring Megadeth bassist David Ellefson have released their cover of Judas Priest‘s classic “Freewheel Burning.” The musicians playing on the cover track are Ellefson on bass; Jason McMaster (Dangerous Toys) and Thom Hazaert on lead vocals; Gus G (ex-Ozzy Osbourne, Firewind), Andy James and Andy Martongelli on guitar; and, Dave McClain on drums.
The track will appear on Ellefson‘s covers album titled No Cover, which will be released via Combat Records on October 2, 2020.
