For the album ‘Patrón’ the renowned French band Loading Data (already toured worldwide with Mondo Generator, Royal Blood or Hermano) became PATRON, led by the singer Lo Patrón. The catchphrase supergroup may be worn out, but the line up in the studio is quite dazzling: on drums Joey Castillo (QOTSA) & Barret Martin (Screaming Trees, Mad Season), bassist Nick Oliveri, guitarist Aurélien Barbolosi (ASTON VILLA), as well as background vocalist Monique St Walker (BLACKBIRD DAYS) and produced by none other than Alain Johannes (Eleven, QOTSA). Although its roots and influences would stretch much farther, the bands that are loosely bound together under the banner the “New Wave Of British Heavy Metal” (or NWOBHM), flourished across the UK from the late 1970s and well into the 1980s.
