Wonderland – Seven Wonders And Four Little Miracles 2017

“Hard Rock in the verses, AOR in the choruses, progressive rock in the instrumental sections, a somewhat simplistic way in trying to describe Wonderland. The best example of this is perhaps the epic “ballad turns into hard rock turns into progressive rock”-song, In Too Deep with it´s wonderful guitar- and synthsolos. 8 out of 10!”

Mammoth Mammoth – Mount The Mountain 2017

Mammoth have produced a spectacular hard rock album, using raw production, aggressive instrumentation, and great songwriting. Opening track “Mount The Mountain” has a fantastic guitar line and a solid chorus.
“Spellbound” blew me away with its grinding beat and well developed lines. The rhythm is similar to Monster Truck‘s brilliant 2016 offering “Don’t Tell Me How to Live” but with way more flourish. Check out the video below. “Hole In The Head” and “Procrastination” to a large extent, are American Dog. “Wild And Dead” is also pure sleaze, in the style of

DON JAMIESON – Communication Breakdown 2017

The title and cover photo come from my Rutgers University senior yearbook photo. My young nieces and nephews found it at my mom’s house and starting texting me how funny it was and when I saw it again after so many years, I agreed! I majored in communication, so it was just a matter of adding the “Breakdown” to it which is obviously, something you never want to happen in comedy.

2. Sober, Finger-Banging, Drunk Logic

BROKEN TEETH – Four on the Floor 2017

2017 release from the hard rockers. Twenty years after seizing power in Austin, Texas, rock-roll battering squad Broken Teeth throw it’s hardest punch ever after signing with Megadeth bassist David Ellefson and former Corporate Punishment President Thom Hazaert at their powerhouse EMP Label Group.

“I’ve had my eyes and ears on Broken Teeth for a few years now and have a history with singer Jason McMaster,” Ellefson said. “It was only a matter of time until I found a way to partner with them. Given their reputation as a crushing live act, along with their previous string of classic

THE LEATHER NUN – VIVE LA FETE! VIVE LA REVOLUTION 2017

Is it still useful to present the Swedish Punk Rocker / Indus of THE LEATHER NUN? Surely not, but it is useful to remind the “young people” that this group began its career in 1979. After a few years of absences in the 90’s-2000, the group returned to the front of the stage with WHATEVER (2016). They are back again with this VIVE LA FETE! VIVE LA REVOLUTION which will be released on May 5th.

Strange Karma – Cold Blooded 2016

I never thought the day would come when I would be reviewing vinyl records. I know their popularity has grown in recent years, especially amongst the Hipster crowd, but I never imagined I would be receiving full-length LPS in the mail for review. Crazy!

Making things even better is the fact that Strange Karma is a really good, melodic hard rock group from Australia. This is hard rock like I grew up with circa the 80’s and early 90’s when bands wrote full-length albums that were cohesive from beginning to end, and not just one-off singles to sell for .99 cents.

The songs on Cold Blooded are catchy, with big choruses an
