The Last Known Recording Of The Original Lynyrd Skynyrd In Concert Formed in Jacksonville, Florida as early as 1964, Lynyrd Skynyrd has sold almost 30-million records in the United States alone, across the 5 decades that they have been a working band. Only in 2019 did the group announce a farewell tour. Skynyrd s fifth studio album, 1977’s Street Survivors, turned out to be a showcase for guitarist/vocalist Steve Gaines, who had joined the band just a year earlier and was making his studio debut with them.
