Hard rock (or heavy rock) is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music which has its earliest roots in mid-1960s garage rock, blues rock and psychedelic rock. It is typified by a heavy use of aggressive vocals, distorted electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, and often accompanied with pianos and keyboards.

19 April 2024 Alicate was formed in the late eighties by lead vocalist/guitarist Jonas Erixon and bass player Fredrik Ekberg. They released a 7” single called “The End/Too Shy To Take It” which is a collectors piece today.

They toured in Sweden and Finland and also supported Ian Gillan on his “Toolbox Tour” in 1992. During the mid-nineties the band was put on ice.
