Grant Stevens is a truly unique globe-trotting artist that I’m thrilled to announce as my first MRC Tasmanian signing. The album is Grant’s AOR flavoured singer/songwriter CBS Records major label debut, ‘Grant Stevens’, originally released in 1989.
Grant Stevens grew up in Sydney’s western suburbs, forming his first band in high-school then leaving for London at age 18 to gain experience in the European market. The album was intended to be released under their name, but circumstances lead to the album being released in 1989 in Japan only,
Canadian melodic rock band REGATTA released their classic one-off album back in 1989. After several years of prompting from MRC, the guys feel now is the right time to get this album dusted off and back out there in CD and Digital form.
The band’s core members Chris Smith (Lead Vocals, Guitars) and Matthew Gerrard (Bass, Backing Vocals) agreed to work with MRC, with the audio fully remastered by Gerrard from original masters.

As requested by many, here’s a vinyl-rip of the second AC/DC album 1975 LP “T.N.T.“, in its original New Zealand version, the same as the Australian pressing.
As many already know, the first two AC/DC albums only were released in Australia and New Zealand, titled ‘High Voltage’ and ‘TNT’, both ’75, with different album cover art. The next year there was the first international AC/DC album release, also titled ‘High Voltage’ but taking songs from these 2 original LP’s, remixed, edited, etc.

With a new guitarist, Warlock recorded the album ‘True As Steel’ in, produced again by Henry Staroste and mixed in the US by maestro Michael Wagener. The ‘Wagener touch’ made Warlock sound more commercial, and their songs got a fair amount of radio airplay in the US, with videos appeared on MTV.
‘True As Steel’ is a killer album, combining the best of the Euro metal attack with the slic, polished American style. The best Warlock album for many.

All we know the melodic hard rock side of Paul Sabu since the mid-Eighties as solo artist, while also collaborating with the likes of David Bowie and Madonna to Precious Metal, Silent Rage, and many others in between.
But a young Sabu started his career in the Seventies recording some stuff mixing the popular ‘disco music’ of the era with Rock.
The band or alter ego Kidd Glove was his first approach to pure Melodic Rock, with an AOR / Radio Rock sound typical of the year (1984) in the U.S. We already featured here the YesterRock and Rock Candy Records reissues of the self-titled album “Kidd Glove”.
